SHOP ONLINE!

Where has the year gone!  Time is flying and our feet have hardly touched the ground at Parlour X!

The biggest announcement for us is that all your favourite labels are now available to purchase through our online boutique!  www.parlourx.com.au This is an exciting new step for us, and we at Parlour X appreciate how difficult it is fitting everything into our busy days and we hope our shopping online service will make things a little bit easier for our customer.  We still aim to offer the same personal and specialist service you receive in the store, and our knowledgeable staff will always be available via email or phone to answer any questions you may have before making a purchase.

Paris Fashion Week already seems an eternity ago and we are already eagerly awaiting delivery of next season’s new stock which will be arriving before we know it!  The latest theme is a 50s revival – chic and elegant – but adapted for the everyday woman.

Don’t turn your back or you’ll miss our exciting new finds!  These are:

Carven – Givenchy designer Guillaume Henry is responsible for reviving this post-war parisienne label with a ready-to-wear collection best described as French chic classic with a twist – beautiful and sophisticated and it won’t blow the budget – c’est très français!

Alice by Temperley – inspired by British fashion this gorgeous label mixes the feminine with a touch of rock and roll!  It is super cool with cutting edge style, designed for the lady!

Marchesa – this label has fast become a red carpet favourite with British born designers Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig applying their eclectic and modern perspective to beautiful eveningwear creating elegant designs inspired by vintage and asian influences.

Other highlights for next season are:

Isabel Marant – we have gone heavy with denim which has already been a sell-out this season because of the great shapes, and fabulous price points.  Isabel Marant’s take on the 50s theme is a rockabilly, happy days version, cool and fun, with skinny jeans rolled up, glittery tops and dresses!

Balenciaga – next season will definitely prove to be as popular as this, its colour pallets of soft green pastels, floral paisleys are absolutely delicious, and with Balenciaga’s futurist touches, even more amazing!  Next season sees a 10 year celebration of the City Bag which will be hitting our shelves soon.

I Love My Tees – we predicated these would be a winner and we were right!  And don't forget the brand is associated with the campaign against domestic violence towards women organised by the French National Federation for Women's Solidarity.  With their edgy design and support of a good cause they will be as popular as ever next season also.

Other hit labels which we will feature again next season are:

Azzedine Alaia – strong tailoring and jewel tone fabrics
Comme des Garcons - masculine meets feminine with signature monochrome palette
Junya Watanabe – army / military chic expert
Herve Leger – new season, new styles – one shoulder and strapless dresses, lace-up and mesh!
Forte Forte – soft thin shirts and luxurious feel blouses are fast becoming essential wardrobe staples
Jerome Dreyfuss – husband of Isabel Marant, this cult bag brand sees a gorgeous palette of reds, yellows, greens, blues and pinks – wow!

If that it not enough to get inspired about, back by popular demand, next season will see more of:

Antik Batik – the best boho French brand around, gorgeous prints and textures, perfect for summer.
Anne Valerie Hash – ex-Chanel designer, the collection has beautiful attention to detail as always and we know her signature jump suits, tees and long T-shirt dresses will be sell-outs!

WHAT'S NEW AT PARLOUR X

As we leave the noughties behind us and kick off into 2010 the fashion savvy are as always knocking down our door at Parlour X!
We are now exclusive stockists in Sydney of cult brand Herve Leger – the brand all Hollywood starlets are obsessed with!  Herve Leger pioneered the body-con/bandage dress which molds and shapes all female bodies, no matter what size, making them look sexy and amazing!
Balenciaga’s ready-to-wear line has been extremely well received by the Sydney fashion crowd and is flying off our shelves.  We have priced our Balenciaga bags very competitively and have managed to keep our pricing in line with our European counterparts.
New in store we will be getting I Love My T’s – super cool t-shirts made even cooler by the fact that I Love My T’s are associated with the campaign against domestic violence towards women, organized by the French National Federation for Women’s Solidarity.
Azzedine Alaia’s next season is all about his signature mini leopard print, very sexy dresses and body hugging skirts which are going to a next season must-have!
Cult favourite Isabel Marant is still one of our most coveted brands.  For 2010 we have gone heavy on her signature blazers, sexy tees and basics which will instantly update your wardrobe.  Also in will be checked shirts, blouses and signature shirtdresses, and of course many catwalk show pieces too.
Finally we want to announce that we now have a permanent sale section in the store!  There are always great bargains to be found here and we even include Balenciaga bags in the sale which is unheard of - in our first week of sale all the bags sold out except for two!  It is always worth popping in as you never know what you might find!

BALENCIAGA MARKS THE X

IN NEWS that will have the fashion faithful queing down fiveways come February, Balenciaga ready-to-wear will be stocked in Parlour X . While the piping hot French brand's accesories have been available in this country for some time, it is only now that the label has agreed to be stocked here after hand-picking Parlour X. According to Balenciaga commercial director, Cyrille Tayac, "we wanted to meet stores who really believe in our collections and their potential. I heard about Parlour X through other designers, he said. "We wanted to come and visit the store first, get an overview of the market before introducing the ready to wear collection. Eva has a good reputation for making a very personal selection of pieces and daring to stock very high-end designers." For Galambos, this is the missing piece of the puzzle."I  think it completes the Parlour X stable. In seven years of my business it has always felt like there was that one more thing needed for it to be perfect . I finally feel like this is the missing element that makes it 100 percent complete for me. I could not be more excited!!!!!!!June 2007 press release

PARLOUR X SHOPPING SPREE - HOT NEW PIECES TO ARRIVE IN STORE

"It's lucky I thrive on being busy," grins Eva Galambos, owner of Paddington shopping icon, Parlour X. Galambos is finally relaxing in the hip environs of her favourite local café, sipping a well deserved cup of tea, and showing off her new Parisian threads (a deconstructed sheer white lace Comme Des Garcons skirt with a Viktor & Rolf black frilled jacket). The fashion-obsessed blonde has now finished a crazy busy buying spree, both at home and abroad, for summer 07. And, quite rightly, she is feeling very excited indeed.

Her selections have consolidated her relationships with the top notch brands she is already known for stocking - Comme des Garcons, Junya Watanabe, Viktor & Rolf, Hussein Chalayan, Vivienne Westwood and Corto Moltedo bags, to name a few - and built on newer relationships with a slew of drawcard labels.

"I am so excited about Azzedeine Alaia and Alexander McQueen; the pieces that will be arriving in store in July and August are just insane," she says, before launching into detailed descriptions of a sexy denim bustier dress from McQueen, and the soft pink cashmere dresses she has ordered from Alaia. "We have also picked up AF Vandervorst from Belgium, which is one of my personal favourites. It's really witty and unusual, while still being wearable," she confides. "And I think we are going to get some fabulous reactions to Luella and Sharon Wauchob." And don't forget Zac Posen. The store is currently playing host to the cult New York designer's spring/summer collection, and autumn/winter arrives in August - a thrill for fashion fans who previously had to jump on a plane to get their mits on his cult frocks.

Parlour X is still the place to go for the ever-popular collections from Isabel Marant, Antik Batik and Anna Sui, all of which couldn't be easier to wear. "You are going to love the glamorous sequence we have ordered," smiles Galambos, with a wink. What about denim? "ACNE jeans," she says. "They fit the best."

At RAFW, Galambos invested in local heroes too, re-ordering from Josh Goot and Camilla & Marc - "always very strong" and buying pieces from the well-received Ginger & Smart collection - "I think they cleverly combine a great feminine, creative and commercial aesthetic," - as well as from Tina Kalivas ("Although Tina's forte is in her tailoring, I'm loving her sexy 'rock-chic' hot pink/black, mesh, leatherette tunic, arriving in time for summer,"), Kirrily Johnston ("the dangerous 'mango' colour-way that Kirrily has introduced for summer is so fresh; boys will want to eat the girls they see in her frocks!"), Mrs. Press ("Clare Press's silk slips are camisoles are clever, luxurious essentials") and Marnie Skillings ("no one can layer an outfit and maintain feminine, sexy glamour quite like her"). Galambos's favourite for some serious fun? "Romance Was Born." She bought selected items from the label's brave new collection.

One more thing? "November will see the launch of our complete web-catalogue as an additional function on the Parlour X website, so everyone all around Australia and abroad will be able to view our particular selections!"
