Thierry Mugler was launched in 1974, with his menswear following in 1978. His designs have become popular for their exaggerated and angular elements, including wide shoulders and pegged waistlines. His work often reflects his inspiration – science fiction, Hollywood glamour, sexual fetishism and eclectic art from the 1970s-1980s. Lead by Creative Director Nicola Formichetti, Mugler remains to be one of the leading experimental labels in fashion.
