Established in 1945 in Paris by Madame Carven Mallet this label came to epitomise the charm, gaiety and beauty of post-war Paris and they went on to become one of the primary practitioners of the 1950s golden age of haute couture. Since it has been reinvented by former Givenchy designer Guillaume Henry, it is now best described as French ‘chic’ understated classic with a huge big twist!
