Balenciaga has been a leader in the field of women’s fashion design for almost 100 years. The House of Balenciaga has always embodied Parisian elegance, epitomized by its founder Cristobal Balenciaga who was hailed as ‘The Couturier of Couturiers’ by designer Christian Dior.  Brain child Nicolas Ghesquiere whose creations project a naïve futurism as he combines sports with science fiction whilst maintaining couture traditions, was hired by the House as creative director in 1995 recreating the influence and respect the house commanded in its former heyday turning Balenciaga into the most coveted collection in the world today.
