Parlour X is chichi. Think mirrors, beautiful light, white space and a spiral staircase up to a secret beauty salon. The store is also a family affair. From the design of the shop to the chaise at the back, everything has a story and it's all got the same fizz as the store effervescent owner and manager, Eva Galambos

"Everything is personal. The couch is our old family couch we've had for 30 years, the motif on the mirror was designed by my friend, even the flooring was done by guys I grew up with," she says.
Decidedly designer chic, Parlour X has given locals a glimpse of high-end international fashion for the past five years. Think Vivienne Westwood, Comme Des Garcons and Viktor & Rolf, not forgetting the best local labels like Willow and Josh Goot.
It's a favourite shopping spot with Camilla Freeman from Camilla and Marc, Kelly Smythe, wardrobe director from Channel 7, and Rebecca Korner of Korner Skincare. "We're all friends and I guess we inspire each other," Galambos says. "I take bits and pieces from everywhere, from music videos and combine them to create something new."
