London born & currently based, raised in Paris of French & Armenian roots, Charles Anastase, who first began his career as an artist in 2000, won a Calvin Klein ad campaign which gained him global visibility as he continued as an illustrator contributing to such magazines as Purple fashion, dazed & Confused, Lifestyle and Doingbird. When Charles won a 50,000 euro prize from the Ministere de la culture to make clothes, after coming into regocogition in the French fashion scene as a photo stylist attributing designers he most admired (Vivienne Westwood, Martin Margiela & John Galliano), he was able to show his first collection in Paris which was inspired by Alice in Wonderland & has since been supported by internationally acclaimed stores (Le Bon Marche, Barneys New York & more recently Dover Street Market) & prominent press (Numero, Vogue and I-D).
